I took a little break from social media because it is really bloody exhausting. As much as I like sharing my work, I hate the politics of Instagram, numbers, followers, algorithms, the disappointing lack of diversity and inclusiveness in the feeds of my fellow wedding suppliers... So I said "fuck it" and went fishing for a week. I did a lot while I was away and have a particularly busy few weeks ahead, including another trip to Nigeria (yay, hot weather!). Here's a picture of part of a suite that nearly broke me last week. Suede and leather envelopes with laser engraved hand written calligraphy. They look and feel so beautiful in person. HANDWRITTEN TABLE PLAN this seating chart was really popular, judging from the number of people taking photos of it on the day (just a note, this is fine but it's nice to ask first. The number of people walking into my stand and snapping away at my work while totally ignoring me was mind boggling). It was written completely by hand using a brush (if you haven't tried brush Calligraphy you should, so therapeutic). My favourite details are probably the hand painted streaks and that rich black colour. It can be recreated in a lot of different colours too. FABRIC TABLE PLANS This guy was very popular at the national wedding show over the weekend. And I get why. It's unusual and will be one of the most lasting keepsakes of your wedding day. This seating chart was made from a really lovely pure cotton but you can choose from a range of fabrics from the lightest silk to the heaviest cotton. My fabric table plans start from £120 and can be designed to suit your wedding, match your stationery etc. You can also hire my stand for £50 for the week (not including delivery costs). Bonus is the fabric can be sewn into something else (not by me, I suck at sewing), or just displayed like a tapestry after your wedding. They can also be shipped anywhere in the world. THE NATIONAL WEDDING SHOW It was a busy, exhausting weekend at @thenationalweddingshow, but I spoke to lots of really cool couples who shared my design aesthetic, and hung with some awesome suppliers like @daisy_and_fred @chrisquinnmusic @wishuponasparkle @bubble_bar_caravan_ @carlathomasphoto @emeraldpaperdesign and I got to spend the whole weekend with the amazing @sueannsimonphoto ! Not bad for an introvert huh? I also taught packed out workshops every day (see if you can spot me in the picture). I need about a week in isolation to recover (which won't happen because #neveralone) but I'm really excited for what happens next! I'll try to get back to being regular on social media once I've sorted out my studio and dealt with some urgent projects.
